Integration of Earth rotation, gravity field and geometry using space geodetic observations

The objective of this project is to consistently determine the three parameter groups of physical geodesy (Earth orientation parameters, lower degree harmonic coefficients of its gravity field and station coordinates) in a combined adjustment, using data of all available space geodetic techniques. The data shall be combined on the level of normal equations and observations, respectively. Previously neglected relations and correlations between the different parameter groups will be completely considered for the first time. The combined analysis serves as an important basis for a global geodetic observation system (GGOS) which allows specific investigations of geophysical processes with high accuracy.
